LASHA DARSALIA'S MEETING WITH THE COMMISSIONER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE

The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lasha Darsalia, met with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, Dunja Mijatović, on 3 July.

At the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of cooperation.

Lasha Darsalia informed the Commissioner about the difficult humanitarian and security situation in the occupied territories of Georgia.

The sides emphasized the importance of keeping the occupation of Georgian territories high on the agenda of the Council of Europe.

The sides also reviewed the security environment in the region and the challenges facing Georgia in this context.
