The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, has met with the President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, Gunn Marit Helgesen

Within the framework of the 135th Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, held an introductory meeting with the President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, Gunn Marit Helgesen.

During the meeting, the parties underscored the role of the Congress in enhancing local self-government and expressed their readiness to continue cooperation.

The Georgian side briefed the President of the Congress on the ongoing political processes and reforms in the country. Particular emphasis was placed on issues of regional cooperation and on the Georgian delegation’s active involvement in the work of the Congress.
