On the 5th of May 2014, in the frames of the visit to Austria, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze met the Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Mr Sebastian Kurz.
The two ministers discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral and multilateral co-operation. Ms Panjikidze and Mr Kurz focused on Georgia's European aspirations; current situation in Georgia's occupied territories; regional security, including the crisis in Ukraine; co-operation in the frames of international organizations and prospects of enhancing relations between the two countries in different spheres.
Particular emphasis was put on the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union and its effective implementation and possibilities of accelerating the introduction of a visa free regime for Georgia.
The Austrian Federal Ministry reaffirmed his Government's strong support for Georgia's European aspirations and the country's territorial integrity. The Georgian Foreign Minister, in turn, invited her Austrian colleague to pay a visit to Georgia.
